In 2021, as pandemic restrictions lift, the Poetry Pharmacy is poised to re-open doors in Shropshire. This film uses redacted audio recordings of pharmacy founder Deborah Alma, to champion the restorative power of poetry.
The words and voice are taken from an audio interview gathered in 2019 for a digital zine, which are lifted, redacted, and remixed.
The combination of audiovisuals from two different periods is set against other markers of time; the long heritage of the building and the enduring nature of poetry – as a means of connection and a tool for wellbeing.
