Kerry Ridgeway X Offa’s Dyke // Shropshire

Field Notes:
‘A song but longer. Holding nothing back.Magpie and robin edge the ridge on tiptoes.‘
On the border of England and Wales, two ancient pathways cross one another. This poetry film gives voice to the histories and holloways, shaped by the passage of people over time.
The Kerry Ridgeway becomes a lovelorn maiden in song. The Offa’s Dyke Path guides travellers across the border, where the ghosts of ancestors linger in the backlight and gorse.
The film plays on conventions from folk horror and hauntology. 360-degree footage is compressed into 2D space, allowing a presence to emerge from deep within the earth.
