Wyche Cutting // Malvern Hills

Light just finding its feet in the day. Empty bench watching the morning come. The feeling of mid-air.

Wyche Cutting is an old salt path, leading to the top of the Malvern Hills. I came here with my grandparents as a child and remembered three key places I wanted to revisit; the bench, the bus stop, and the steps up to the ridge.

When I captured each of these spaces, I had intended to combine them into a single poem. But they were too full of detail and too different from one another to merge, and so the poetry film became a triptych;

The Bench / The Shelter / The Climb
