Wyche Cutting // Malvern Hills

Field Notes:
‘Light just finding its feet in the day. Empty bench watching the morning come. The feeling of mid-air.‘
Wyche Cutting is an old salt path, leading to the top of the Malvern Hills. In this film, three sites at the cutting prompt a triptych of poetry films.
The Bench takes a birds’ eye view of life across the borderland. The Shelter traces an old thought, as it shifts between a bus stop and telephone box. The Climb pays homage to a relative, who lays waymarks to follow. The cumulative memories become a ‘salt line’, following impressions left by transportation routes of the past.
